Skeins of Ravenstail warp<\/p><\/div>\n

Depending on the size of your robe, apron, leggings, etc., the following are the AVERAGE amounts needed for projects in either Ravenstail or Chilkat weavings:<\/p>\n

Pouch \u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 30 yards<\/p>\n

Leggings \u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 60 yards (both leggings)<\/p>\n

Apron \u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026..\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 150 yards<\/p>\n

Blanket \u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026…\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 800 to 1000 yards<\/p>\n

(and for Chilkat robe, add 200 yards for the side braids)<\/p>\n

To determine the amount of warp needed for any project:<\/p>\n

To work out the amount of warp you need for a project, use the following equation.\u00a0 First decide what size of piece you want to weave\u00a0 (Remember to give yourself a little extra length so you have enough to trim the ends straight.\u00a0 On a weaving without fringe, add at least 3\u201d to the finished length so that you can work the bottom rows easily.<\/p>\n

The Equation:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Width of piece x number of warp ends per inch = total number of warp ends<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Length of piece x number of warp ends = number of inches needed<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Divide total number of inches needed by 36 (# of inches in a yard) and the resulting amount is the number of yards you will need for your piece.<\/p>\n

Example:<\/p>\n

Width of piece = 30\u201d<\/p>\n

You will use 10 (epi) ends-per-inch warp<\/p>\n

Length of piece = 18\u201d<\/p>\n

So 30\u201d x 10\u201d warp ends-to-the-inch = 300 warp ends<\/p>\n

300 warp ends x 18\u201d long = 5400 inches of warp<\/p>\n

5400 inches divided by 36\u201d (in a yard) = 150 yards<\/p>\n

You will need 150 yards for the project.<\/p>\n
