Half of these folks I did not recognize, the other half, well, I had no idea they played music!\u00a0 Like where have I been?<\/p>\n<p>Familiar faces in Southeast Alaskan towns is a given.\u00a0 Depending on the town, some of us are related to everyone!\u00a0 If you are a public figure head, then everyone knows or at least recognizes you, even if you are the town clown or the town drunk. \u00a0 Then there are those of us who are independent and reclusive; few people remember our face &#8211; (now listen up people, I&#8217;m not necessarily referring to me!)<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_468\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clarissarizal.com\/blogblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Andy_Cadiente_Ben_Quick.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-468\" class=\"size-full wp-image-468\" title=\"Andy_Cadiente_Ben_Quick\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarissarizal.com\/blogblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Andy_Cadiente_Ben_Quick.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.clarissarizal.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Andy_Cadiente_Ben_Quick.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.clarissarizal.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Andy_Cadiente_Ben_Quick-300x228.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-468\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Andy Cadiente and Ben Quick<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Sealaska Heritage Institute sponsored a Native Guitarist Jam on Monday, August 30th from 5-7pm at the Old Armory, now called the JACC (Juneau Arts and Culture Center).\u00a0 The poster design caught my eye a couple of weeks before the event.\u00a0 The poster had a Tlingit design by Preston Singletary on the front of the guitar.\u00a0 (The colors of the poster and the concept of a Native design on a guitar reminded me of the poster that my Ex designed and silk-screened for an Archie Cavanaugh performance back in the 80&#8217;s.\u00a0 In fact, Archie will be using this design concept for his second album to be released soon this Fall\/Winter.) \u00a0 The poster for this event too was quite striking and intriguing &#8211;\u00a0 &#8220;Native Guitarist Jam?&#8221;\u00a0 What&#8217;s that?\u00a0 Huh? &#8211; On a Monday late afternoon?\u00a0 Huh?<\/p>\n<p>Just the event title alone was enough of an impetus let alone a Monday and a late afternoon?\u00a0 Later, I figured that the event was accommodating to the Alaska Summit conference held next door at the Centennial Hall?\u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure, I&#8217;m just guessing.<\/p>\n<p>(Hey, how come it took an entire 2 weeks before this event was posted to this blog?\u00a0 Cuz my laptop would not receive my photo disc because it said there was &#8220;an error&#8221;
