there so many of them yet to still carve&#8230;I&#8217;ve got my work cut out for me; it all adze up!&#8221;<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I first met Wayne on the eve of Halloween 1981.\u00a0 He had come up to Sealaska Corporation offices to &#8220;sell some of his wares&#8230;&#8221;\u00a0 I bought a hand-carved and painted &#8220;Moon&#8221; mask and a silver bracelet.\u00a0 I remarked to Wayne that he had a resemblance to my younger brother, Tim to which he replied:\u00a0 &#8220;Really?&#8230;I look like a family member of YOURS&#8230;.!?&#8221;&#8212;\u00a0 My Lily had just met Wayne then, she was not quite 2 years old.\u00a0 When I asked Lily if she knew Wayne, to our surprise, she replied:\u00a0 &#8220;Yes,&#8230;.that&#8217;s Uncle Tim&#8230;!&#8221;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4691\" style=\"width: 385px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clarissarizal.com\/blogblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/LongBoard.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4691\" class=\"wp-image-4691 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarissarizal.com\/blogblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/LongBoard.jpg\" alt=\"LongBoard\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.clarissarizal.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/LongBoard.jpg 375w, https:\/\/www.clarissarizal.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/LongBoard-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4691\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Wayne adzes one of the &#8220;long boards&#8221;<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I would have posted close-up images of Wayne&#8217;s variety of adzed patterns, but I leave it up to my reader&#8217;s imagination.\u00a0 I would rather you see his patterns first hand, like I said, in every exposed piece of wood in the building;
