Sound Studios, Seattle, Washington<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Our names and personalities are as individually artistic as our band name &#8220;Khu.eex&#8221; which means &#8220;potlatch&#8221; in Tlingit. \u00a0 \u00a0 Preston called us together for the past three days to record the vocals with the already-recorded instrumentation.\u00a0 We worked on the vocals in this band to sound like a chorus with two and three-part harmonies of many, many voices as if there is a large group of singers as we do in our traditional songs and dances.\u00a0 In the olden days, our songs were always sung with harmonies; we want to inspire our traditional dance groups to bring this element back &#8211; I feel &#8220;Khu.eex&#8221; can be a powerful venue to help this intent.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4729\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clarissarizal.com\/blogblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Om.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4729\" class=\"wp-image-4729 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarissarizal.com\/blogblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Om.jpg\" alt=\"Om\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.clarissarizal.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Om.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.clarissarizal.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Om-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4729\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Singer extraordinaire: Om Jahari<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Om is the professional vocalist; the rest of us have sung (mainly our traditional songs) but we are not considered professional singers.\u00a0 However, having Om on board helped &#8220;round us out!&#8221;\u00a0 This is the first time the five of us have sung and recorded together;
