the Ellis&#8217;<\/p><\/div>\n<p>When Sue Shotridge and I went into the &#8220;Island Quilter&#8221; store on Vashon Island to buy some sewing notions for a button blanket, we noticed a napkin in the shape of a Christmas tree &#8211; before you do any cutting, make sure you pre-wash the fabrics and then iron all the fabrics folded in half, right and left selvages matched up.\u00a0 Then cut a template from a piece of smooth cardboard, cut a half circle that is 22 1\/4&#8243; long and 11&#8243; wide.\u00a0 Lay out your fabric with salvage edge on both the left and right sides.\u00a0 Lay the straight edge of the cardboard along each salvage.\u00a0 You will get 2 double sets of half-curve; with right sides together sew along all the edges except leave about 4&#8243; open, this enables you to turn the fabric right side out.\u00a0 Press.\u00a0 Topstitch along the entire edges.\u00a0 Then fold the half circle into the &#8220;trees&#8221; x 15&#8242; wall mural, which got &#8220;vetoed&#8221; at the very last minute.\u00a0 so finally I put them to use.\u00a0 Sure I could have sewn a huge mural (if I had someone else paying my bills while I sewed), or used the fabrics for something that would have brought in an income, however, I have great pleasure in making things for people, and it&#8217;s been since 1989 that I have done that.\u00a0 So I cut into all the fabrics without any harm!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4749\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clarissarizal.com\/blogblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/NapkinFabrics.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4749\" class=\"wp-image-4749 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarissarizal.com\/blogblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/NapkinFabrics.jpg\" alt=\"NapkinFabrics\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.clarissarizal.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/NapkinFabrics.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.clarissarizal.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/NapkinFabrics-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4749\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A beautiful selection of 100% cotton fabrics<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I made 150 napkins during the week of Christmas.\u00a0 It was very nice to take a week off from any kind of business and just do a sewing project for my family and friends.\u00a0 Sewing always has a calming effect with lots of joy felt within me &#8212;
